I'm a NJ native and have always been fascinated with the casino industry, especially as it's developed in Atlantic City. So I really enjoyed this insider look into two of the resorts with Trump's name on them. There are a few moments where brief encounters with or involving Trump are touched upon, but the author apparently didn't have any substantial relationship with Trump, making these mostly superficial moments with very limited impact on the narrative. Be aware that this gives an opinionated perspective and not necessarily an end-all be-all perspective, especially since the author's later years were less about the business and more about getting everything he could out of his position within the organization before ultimately leaving it. I recommend it as a light read, especially given the conversational style of the author. I deducted one star because of some limited repetition and Trump Taj Mahal Casino bit of what I considered unnecessary detail not really connecting to the otherwise very interesting insider spin on the changing culture within Trump Plaza and Trump Taj Mahal. The book also ends somewhat abruptly, and so I would have liked to see an epilogue, but perhaps the author had no experience with events like the Hard Rock eventually taking over the Taj Mahal's premises. I was also surprised that there was very little on events like filming the movie "Snake Eyes" at the Taj only a brief mention or George Clooney filming an Ocean's Eleven scene at Trump Plaza which wasn't mentioned at alltwo Trump Taj Mahal Casino I assumed would at least generate an anecdote or two about the approach or the properties.
